VERY IMPORTANT ITEM INFORMATION, PLEASE READ! This auction is a rare antique Coin Silver Mustard Ladle made by Bernard Dupuy. Bernard Dupuy may originally have hailed from Philadelphia, but he was operating a successful business in Raleigh, North Carolina by 1828. In 1837 he was joined by Charles Boudinot Root. Both Dupuy and Root were skilled craftsmen; a sizable number of exceptionally beautiful ...pieces made by both survive. Examples of their work are on display in the North Carolina Museum of History. Root acquired the business from Dupuy in 1842 and operated it successfully until he sold it in 1860. Fiddle Tipt handle has a lovely engraved monogram of "LFL" on the front. Marked on the back on the handle is "B. DUPUY". Ladle measures 4 5/8" long and it could use a good polish but other than that it is in excellent condition.
