I’m offering today another one of my vintage baby dolls from the 1950's era. What a precious baby doll! How can you not fall in love with her?
This sweet doll has brown molded hair which shows very little wear. I've tied a pink elastic headband with large pink polka dot grosgrain ribbon bow which I made just for her. She has single brown line for her eyebrows which... compliment her open/close blue sleep eyes. She has thick brown eyelashes which have been spared over the years from her previous little mommy's. Her delicate nose flows down to her pinkish orange open mouth with hole for baby doll bottle. As with all my dolls, I wouldn't recommend giving bottles to these older dolls. Although, I'll leave that up to her new mommy.
This baby doll is heavy vinyl with jointed head, arms and legs. She is wearing a pale pink onsie with white polka dots. The bodice has two rows of ruffles. There are snaps in the crotch for easy removal. The sleeves are long and come just above the wrist. The little tutu I chose for her is pale pink with mint green flower print. In the center of the waist sits a delicate pale pink flower. Under the tutu is a slip with pale pink ruffle trim on the bottom. Under her tutu she wears pink cotton pants which come just below the knee area. I chose white socks with pink trim to compliment her adorable mary jane style shoes. The top of the shoes have pale pink and mint green satin roses which go across the top front of the shoes. Oh so cute! She will come with her very own big eye plush baby lamb to keep her company at her new home.
This doll has some writing on her back torso, but I'm not able to read them. Not sure who made her, but she is precious! She has been in my collection for many years and over the course of years I clean my dolls and try to avoid them from ageing by doing so. They are not played with by children who come and visit; I know that sounds mean, but sometimes they play too rough. My dolls are kept in a doll room specifically for them and are displayed for everyone to enjoy.
All my dolls are truly loved and cared for as though they were my children. Their clothes are either original to the doll, made by me, I've tried finding doll clothing from the same era as the doll or find clothing which match the personality of the doll. We do not smoke and I try very hard to keep a tidy clean home free of dust and odor. My dolls are clean and most of the time look as though they did when they were sold new. Depending on how old they are, I do try to be honest in detailing if some of the dolls have bruises, missing toes or fingers or other issues, but that doesn't mean they aren't worth having; for each one is like children.....they are all beautiful in their mothers eyes. If I've missed something it would never be intentional.
SIZE:
This is a larger doll standing approximately 19" tall. Her baby lamb stands approximately 6" tall.
CONDITION:
As with most of my dolls, she is what I would consider in good condition. Her molded hair shows very little wear to be as old as she is. Her eyes open and close freely. She has her full thick eyelashes which compliment her blue eyes. Her outfit is new and was purchased just for the doll. Her shoes and socks are new. Her lamb has been washed and is ready to display with the baby doll. Please view complete set of photos for thorough description. I hope you can take a few minutes to look at my other dolls. God bless you. Connie
