Featured in this auction is a really beautiful, vintage Rookwood Pottery cabinet vase. The piece has a beautiful art-deco design with three buttressed handles and geometrically-recessed panels surrounding the vase. This vase is in excellent, near-mint condition with no chips, no cracks, no crazing and no repairs. There are, however, minor scuffs and glaze rubs to the vase from gentle use. This piece is approximately 5" tall, 1-3/4" wide at the ri...m opening, and about 3-1/2" wide at the handles. The base of the pottery is stamped with the Rookwood Pottery flame mark, the shape number 2330 and the production year XXIX (1929). To me, the glaze is really the star of this piece. This gorgeous glaze is a deep matte, ocean blue-green crystalline drip glaze that has traveled down to the base and has been ground flat to make the vase level. The crystals in the glaze are most visible nearer the base of this piece. This is a fabulous vase from the art-deco era. The vase is clean both inside and out with evidence of light mineral staining inside. Check out all 11 photos! It displays as a lovely cabinet piece that would be perfect for any Rookwood or American art pottery collector. Check out my other pottery listings!
