Original Description:
This is an original 1804 land grant from the State of Pennsylvania, hand signed by Thomas McKean as Governor, and countersigned by Timothy Matlack. McKean was a signer of the Declaration of Indepedence, and Matlack was the scribe that hand wrote the DOI. McKean had served as President of the Continental Congress, was a member of the Stamp Act Congress, and signed the Articles of Confederation, and is considered one of the founding fathers of the United States. The document is hand sign...ed by McKean, as Governor, and hand signed by Matlack. The piece measures roughly 20.5 by 11 inches and has a little nibbling from long ago.
