Description: Up for sale is abeautiful Adams Ironstone Calyx Ware Singapore Bird (Newer Backstamp) Single(1) Five (5) Piece Place Setting. At the time this listing was created, manyplace settings, extra pieces, and serving pieces were available in this patternas well as many other brands and patterns, so be sure and check out my manyother lots! The following pieces are included in each place setting:
1Dinner Plate – 10.125” in diameter
1Salad Plate – 8.1...25” in diameter
1Bread & Butter Plate – 6.0” in diameter
1Saucer – 5.875” in diameter
1Flat Tea Cup – 2.625” in height
Mostpieces in the set are marked with the following backstamp: “Calyx Ware, RealEnglish Ironstone, Adams, Made in England, Established 1657, Singapore Bird”with other pieces having a slight variation of that backstamp. The set is of apastel green base with a multi-color floral and bird pattern. The set has beendiscontinued and a date of manufacture is unknown.
Condition: Please notethat the set is NOT “like new” and the pieces show signs of use and age;however, no chips or cracks were noticed upon a careful examination of the set.Many pieces have some light crazing. In most instances, the crazing is minorand is only visible in certain light. The crazing present is not “dirty” andhas not fully penetrated the piece to form a crack or to allow dirt into thecraze. Additionally, many of the pieces show some light utensil and cleaningscratching/swirling to the glaze and paint. Some pieces show light areas ofmissing paint due to these light scratches. A few minor manufacturing defectsare also present (mainly minor imperfections to the glaze). Lastly, the piecesmay show some fading to the blue/green base color, and in some instances appearnearly white. Overall, I do not feel that the condition of the pieces havebeen severely compromised.
