Description: Up for sale is abeautiful Adams Ironstone Calyx Ware Singapore Bird (Newer Backstamp) Single(1) Flat Tea Cup (No Saucer). At the time this listing was created, many placesettings, extra pieces, and serving pieces were available in this pattern aswell as many other brands and patterns, so be sure and check out my many otherlots! The flat tea cup measures approximately 2.625” in height and has a pastelgreen base with a multi-color floral and bird pattern. The set has beend...iscontinued and a date of manufacture is unknown. Most pieces in the set aremarked with the following backstamp: “Calyx Ware, Real English Ironstone, Adams, Made in England, Established 1657, Singapore Bird” with other pieceshaving a slight variation of that backstamp.
Condition: Please notethat the tea cups are NOT “like new” and show signs of use and age; however, nochips or cracks were noticed upon a careful examination. Many pieces have somelight crazing. In most instances, the crazing is minor and is only visible incertain light. The crazing present is not “dirty” and has not fully penetratedthe piece to form a crack or to allow dirt into the craze. Additionally, manyof the pieces show some light utensil and cleaning scratching/swirling to theglaze and paint. Some pieces show light areas of missing paint due to theselight scratches. A few minor manufacturing defects are also present (mainlyminor imperfections to the glaze). Lastly, the pieces may show some fading tothe blue/green base color, and in some instances appear nearly white.Overall, I do not feel that the condition of the pieces have been severelycompromised.
