These are sonically perfect, cosmetically they do have signs of age and use. These were just professionally re-foamed by Chasrock Services, right here in Rochester, New York. The high quality surrounds were provided by none other than " Mr. Rick Cobb". The voice coils were aligned to a 30 Hz tone, to insure the best possible sound and also retain the original dust caps. There are some scratches, corner dings, laminate peel etc. Also they have the original grill cloth. If you are ...looking for a mint museum quality pair, these are not it. But they still really sound great and look very presentable. Judge for yourself and look carefully at all the pictures. I still believe that the Large Advents are dollar for dollar the best value in a vintage loud speaker. I have cut and pasted another opinion about the reputation and sound quality of these. Double them up, add power and the magic begins! I always have a set doubled up in my studio and enjoy shocking the audiophile snobs and non-believers. I would have to say that Chasrock Services has sold more Large Advents on eBay than any other user. It is because I really believe in their sound quality and great value. They were also my first pair of " HI-Fi " speakers in the 70's and I still enjoy listening to them.Theoriginal Large Advent speaker is one of the worlds best sellers and a truevalue in the audiophile arena. These are the original Large Advents that becameso famous. Even today it's still considered one of the best sounding speakersever made. The designer, Henry Kloss, had a knack in designing speakers (calledvoicing) with great sound and his home run was confirmed by the entire audioworld. Even Stereophile payed homage to the Large Advent as it was listed intheir top 100 products in the last 40 years article. The Absolute Sound magazinefurther disrupted high end audio when they published an article about DoubleStacking Advents that beat out the sound of several high end speakers costing10 times as much! What fun audio was back in those golden years.
