RARE CATHRINEHOLM (NORWAY) VINTAGE LARGE 9 1/2" DIAMETER BLACK & RED PLANETARY ORBITAL PATTERN DECORATED 'SATURN' ENAMEL MIXING/SERVING BOWL(Circa 1954-1962)Scandinavian Modernist decorated enamelwareDIMENSIONS: 9 ½" Width/Diameter x 4" Height
CONDITION:There's a few barely noticeable and not terribly distracting tiny flea-bites along the extreme outer rim of the enamel bowl. These would be considered to be few and very minor 'touches' to the glazed enamel rim an...d they amount to tiny glaze flakes and aren't true, unsightly flea-bites in the enamel, which go all the way down to the metal underlayment and which are often oxidized. The bowl only has a few minor flaws, which don't interfere with the overall appearance of this quite rare and very hard to find vintage Cathrineholm Norway jet black & crimson red, large 9 1/2" in diameter, 'Saturn' mixing/serving decorated enamel bowl. Depicted are the red, nocturnal, intersecting, planetary orbiting rings of Saturn on the bowl's jet black exterior sidewalls and a vivid, saturated solid crimson red glaze on the bowl's interior basin. Now how about serving up some Atomic mixed green salad in this gorgeous vintage Cathrineholm 'Saturn' bowl?' The mixed greens will just jump off the interior, crimson red, baked enamel paint and make quite a statement when you place it on your dining room table, bar or sideboard. Extraordinarily beautiful.
