Up for auction today is a WWII stainless steel canteen in very good condition.
Bottom is marked US S.M. Co 1943. Very small dents are present in various places - please see photos. Lid fits tightly and screws on and off easily. Lid is a bit "grimy" - it has been lightly cleaned but not scrubbed vigorously. The interior is in very good shape but I could not get a photo of the inside due to lighting. Chain attaching the lid does show some oxidation but is... fully intact.
