IF YOU ALWAYS WANTED A PAIR OF AR-3 SPEAKERS THAT LOOKED AND SOUNDED LIKE FRESH FROM THE FACTORY, PERHAPS THESE ARE FOR YOU. These are the late production AR-3 configuration utilizing the AR-3a Midrange which has a very low failure rate. THIS WILL JUST ABOUT EXHAUST OUR INVENTORY OF AR-3 PARTS, WE EXPECT THESE TO BE OUR LAST PAIR. These are fully guaranteed and may be returned within 30 days , in as shipped condition, for a full refund if you are not 100% satisfied..., no questions asked.   Fully tested with test equipment and a music source. You will be very impressed. Just like you heard in the '60s. A pair of our inventory cabinets with all new thick, double ply dark walnut veneer, tops, all sides and bottoms. Original refinished solid walnut beveled molding front trim. There are no chips, scratches or dented corners. We have taken critical pictures of all sides, tops and bottoms so you can judge the condition yourself. As AR-3 tweeters meeting original specs. are impossible to find, we have completely rebuilt these,  replacing both the internal and external suspensions.  These are now clear and strong and will likely be set below full volume as AR intended. The woofers are two of our best originals with nice surrounds,  and a fresh coat of our sealant. The midranges are original late production AR-3a matched pair. All four level controls have been replaced with lifetime guaranteed controls. Original knobs are installed. All crossover capacitors have been replaced with lifetime guaranteed capacitors.  All new fiberglass stuffing and cabinet sealer. The grille frames are our strong replacement frames. The cloth is a replacement cloth that we use on all AR-3a speakers. It is imported, acoustically transparent, off white linen with the little slubs running up and down the fabric just like the original. Originals were glued in place. These are lightly glued with easy to remove silicone adhesive. The AR logo plates are new laser engraved plates manufactured for VINTAGE-AR; brass with a little gold to prevent tarnishing. You will never need to polish or replace. The #3s are originals with rear pins. Note; all serial number and warranty cards were not available. These will be double boxed to assure no damage in shipping. These will give you many years of great service.The AR-3 utilizes a heavy 12 inch alnico magnet woofer (some say the best woofer AR made), a 2 inch soft dome midrange and a  1 3/8 inch hard dome tweeter. The AR-3 is a 4 ohm system and 25 watts r.m.s. per channel minimum is recommended. It measures 14 x 25 x 11 3/8 inches and weighs 53 lbs.A pickup is preferred. However, we will pack and safely ship to any US location. You may estimate your shipping from this auction page but realize there will be two packages, so double the estimate. We will invoice you for the second package after receipt of your order. An alternative is; we will deliver them curb side for a transfer for $1.00 per mile, one way within 100 miles from Albany, NY 12205. Boston proper and NYC are not included.
