Original Description:
You offer a very rare form of ceramics of pre-Columbian cultures. It is a bowl in the form of a large shell. In the area, especially of Chavin de Huantar, many real large shells were found, which can be seen today in the museum of Chavin de Hunatar. They even show similar patterns. The shell is shaped so that it has a spout for watering ritual; or drink from it. The scratches are, as described, two stylized condors. Many of the patterns and shapes are reminiscent of fertility symbols o...n other Chavin stone heads and stone sculptures. With the shape of the shell, the pottery stylized assumes a predator's head. Here is a predator bird. Sounds were shouted from sea shells, ceramic shells were used to drink and pour ritual liquids! There are probably no spectacular higher offerings on the Chavin, such as a shell made of ceramics. One calls the gods with the large natural shells and sacrifices large ceramic shells to the supreme gods. The ceramic can also be described as a human blood vessel, victims were bled to drink from such ceramics. Even worse were only the Mayan priests. I believe that very fruitful rituals were performed in Chavin for fertility! Today, we underestimate these ceramics!Such a Chavin ceramics I have for the first time in many years. These patterns have impressed me so much, you always recognize new stylized forms under the thought: this form looks like ...! An extraordinary piece and with over 2000 years very old! The condition is in places expertly restored, because these ceramics were almost always ritually sacrificed.Culture: Chavin, Chavin Highlands Age: 2400 years old, TL tested, original Test Document 2013 inclusive!long approx.: 8” in Important for collectors who do not know my offers: it gives antiques, where you don't know, it is genuine or new (looks old or is a fake...). Many looks old, but it is? The best way to find out is an independent laboratory substance test. For many collectors is one reason, why they don't make a test, the high price. (In Europe are the cost today ca. 280 Euro / 300USD per test!) Here you get an antique piece inclusive a test (Thermo-Luminescence Analysis Report). For me as seller is this best feeling, because I can give you a really accurately described piece and the guarantee, made in antique times, an antique artisan, from an old long ago bygone culture!Provenance: Collection G.Eysanck Freiherr von Marienfels, Private collection 2019.Can anyone write a COA, a material laboratory test for determining the age is truly something special! I know the disappointing feeling when you realize that you bought a copy or a fake!Lifetime Authenticity Guarantee!Good luck bidding! I prefer PayPal outside European Union!
