You are bidding on a double spout vessel with a bridge of Nazca culture. The painting shows a sacrificial deity holding a tumi and a trophy head. The deity wears a headdress in the form of a bird of prey and the mouth mask of a big cat. In addition to the eyes, there are two other trophy heads with eyes closed. The body shows pointed spines of the sacred San Pedro cactus and the tail forms a snake deity with eyes wide open. The painting is full of symbolism and mysticism and is one of ...the favorites of lovers of Nazca ceramics. The colors are vivid and reflect everything wonderfully. The painting unites the three highest deities into one figure, big cat, bird of prey and snake, which were worshiped until the Incas and long before the Nazca. So many of these representations find a similar form in the Chavin. Even the whiskers of the big cat mouth mask form small human heads, which are probably a symbol of power over people. One spout is missing, the other was reattached, a small hole on the bottom, otherwise in very good condition, visually very appealing and attractive.
