An original letter from the time of the Chinese Civil War including the cover that was written by a Marine named Elmo Denman who was in Marine Fighter Squadron 211. The letter is dated 1945. In one area he says, ........Speaking of Chinese.........you should see the women & children gang around our mess hall..........there's about 100 waiting outside the door to grab the food that's left on the trays. They nearly knock you down when ...they grab for it. Sometimes the women will fight over a piece of bread...........All of us can be proud & thankful that we are Americans & have America to live in...................... The cover has the send to address of Atlanta Georgia. I currently have other items listed that belonged to this person. The letter has some wear, there are stain marks.
