This is a very early and scarce bar back bottle. The whiskey was made by Greenbriar Distilling Co. in Kentucky. From my research this was the same brand that was produced at that location by the previous owner, Raymond Basil Hayden when he owned the distillery back in the late 1870's. Wm Collins & Co purchased the company and continued production using his name as the brand. The west coast distributors was a company named, Barner & Kehlenbech. They were based out of San Francisco a...nd from what I can tell, were in operation from 1898 until prohibition shut them down in 1919. This bottle was likely produced for that company. The bottle is an early and scarce example. It has white enameled lettering that was hand painted and then fired on for longevity. The glass is hand worked and cut. There is a shallow surface "bump" chip as seen in the last photograph. I see no other chips or cracks. It measures about 11 1/4" tall.
