This is an ultra rare Mormon LDS document that was sent to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1850 seeking Statehood for the region settled by the Mormons out West that they named Deseret. It was a large land area that had no real laws or rules at the time and the Mormon settlers hoped to incorporate it as a state in order to change that. This document is 12 pages long and includes the Constitution of Deseret that had been created earlier in 1849 at a convention at the Great Salt Lake City.... The pamphlet is folded and was made in 2 packets that were not stitched or stapled and is exceedingly rare to find. It measures approx. 6 1/4" by 9 1/2".
