NO RESERVE Huge Schreiner Moth Brooch and Earrings SetThis is a terrific and very rare Schreiner set. Hogging the spotlight is the gigantic moth comprised of rich warm brown rhinestones in the shape of comet tails, bananas, paisley. They are better known as comma stones. The body is silver-flashed rhinestones and the eyes are orange rhinestones. There are issues, negligible but present. The antennae are broken. Were I keeping this I would not (and do not) ...care but they can be removed and/or replaced. The cost to do this is minor in relation to the value. The silver flashed rhinestones do show surface wear. They can be replaced though, again, I love them as is. The large earrings have no issues. This set is verified Schreiner though is unsigned. Pin stem, hinge, catch and earring clips were used in the determination as were the comma stones themselves and construction as a whole. Despite the issues, this is a valuable set. You could look for years, a lifetime, and not find another moth (in ANY condition) let alone with the matching earrings. Some things are worth taking the plunge for and, one collector to another, this is one of them. The brooch measures 3 inches by 1 3/4 inches. The matching clip earrings measure 1 3/8 by 1 inch.Payment by PayPal due within 3 days of auction win.
