This listing offering features a rather large, polished vintage limb specimen of petrified agatized jasperized wood originating from Hampton Butte in Central Oregon! The large all natural, face cut display specimen shows the white jasper with green inclusions that is definitive of some of the oldest, most unique, and most highly sought after specimens originating from Hampton Butte! These type of wood replacement Hamptons are very difficult to acquire nowadays and most of these specime...ns are over 50 years old! The wood replacement is so highly agatized and jasperized that it is very different in appearance from the original fossil wood that was replaced! The entirety of the full, all natural rare green limb cast petrified wood display specimen exhibits a beautiful mix of agate and jasper. The display specimen is best described as mystic and intriguing in hand, I have grown very attached to this specimen despite the flaws apparent on the polished face! The chalcedony replacing the prehistoric, organic sample of wood is extremely colorful and consists of green, red, white, maroon, purple amethyst amethystine agate as well as others! The impressive, large vintage Hampton Butte polished specimen weighs 1 pound 11.1 ounces and measures 144mm by 70mm by 56mm. Digging today rarely, if ever any more, produces specimens of this quality, type and size at Hampton Butte. All photographs were taken with the specimen prehistoric fossil wood while dry.
