Original Description:
This auction features a  vintage WWII US M3 FIGHTING KNIFE & M8 SCABBARD *UTICA*.The knife is 11 1/4 inches long, with a 6  7/8 inch spearpoint blade, see photos  # 3 and # 4. The blade is stamped "U.S. M3-UTICA'. See photo # 5.The guard is bent on one side as is the scabbard .See photo # 1.The leather stacked handle is tight and in very good condition.It is  4 3/4 inches long.See photo # 6.The fiberglass scabbard has a steel throat, the tip has a hole... and leather lace to secure the knife.This tip was a weakness in the scabbard and often broke off from the scabbard. see  photo # 9. This scabbard's tip broke off and a 1981 Lincoln penny was glued on to the end to protect the soldier.The initials H K are scratched into the fiberglass sheath.The sheath is stamped, "US M8".
