This is a Japanese WWll Army Kamikaze pilot or tank crew`s sword in combat mountings. The blade is signed "Noshu Seki ju Kanenori saku 濃州関住兼則作" with 昭 inspection stamp, shinogi-zukuri shape, WWll time period ca. 1940 era made blade. Kanenori`s real name is Kojima Taro, was born in 1907, Kanemichi`s younger brother, lived in Seki city, Gifu prefecture, made swords during WWll time, listed in John Slough`s book p...age 56, 57 and rated 1 million yen. The blade is in old polish, shows fine scratches but no rust, no stain and in good condition. The temper line is wavy gunome temper pattern and has deep temper at the point. Forging grain is tight ko-itame hada, no openings, no blister and no forging flaws at all. There is no bend, no nick, no crack and cutting edge is sharp. The scabbard is leather covered wood scabbard, shows aged surface scratches but no tear, no crack, no bend and in good condition. The handle is tight fit, tsuka-ito wrapping is no cut, no loose and in good condition. It measures 25+1/2" tip to the guard, 24+5/8" cutting edge, 1+1/8" width, 6.5 mm thickness at the notch and 36+3/4" in mountings.
