This is a Japanese WWll Army officer`s sword in mountings. The blade is unsigned, "Higashi 東 arsenal mark stamped", shinogi-zukuri shape with bohi engravings, arsenal made blade. The blade is in original polish, no rust, no rust, no stain and in near mint condition. The temper line is chusuguha temper pattern and has deep temper at the point. &nbs...p;There is no bend, no nick, no crack and cutting edge is sharp. It is mounted in type 98 mountings, the scabbard is glossy lacquered heavy metal scabbard, no lacquer loss, no dent, no bend and in near mint condition. The handle is tight fit, tsuka-ito wrapping no cut, no loose also in near mint condition. Tsuba, seppa and blade has matched number 一五四マ marked. Lock mechanism works fine. It measures 26+1/2" tip to the guard, 25+5/8" cutting edge, 1+1/8" width, 6.5 mm thickness at the notch and 37+3/8" in mountings.
