This is a Japanese WWll Army officer`s sword in mountings. The blade is signed "Noshu ju Yoshida Kaneyasu saku 濃州住吉田兼泰作" with 昭 inspection stamp, shinogi-zukuri shape, WWll time period ca.1940 era made blade. The blade is in old polish, shows fine scratches but no rust, no stain and in good condition. The temper line is wavy gunome with togariba tempe...r pattern and has deep temper at the point. There is no bend, no nick, no crack and cutting edge is sharp. The scabbard is heavy metal scabbard, no dent, no bend, no lacquer loss and in excellent condition. The handle is tight fit, tsuka-ito wrapping is no cut, no loose also in excellent condition. Tsuba and seppa are matched no number stamped. Lock mechanism works fine. It measures 26+1/2" tip to the guard, 25+3/4" cutting edge, 1+1/4" width, 6.5 mm thickness at the notch and 39" in mountings. Shipping is $25 priority in U.S. Payment dues within 3 days auction end.
