Original Description:
Mid 19th century sampler by Ann Eliza Percy - 1859. Worked in a lustrous red thread on punch paper, this sampler is completely charming with neat stitch work throughout. The paper is stitched with the following biblical quotations finishing with Ann Eliza's name which has a floral motif on either side and the date of May 1859 beneath.

The paper has overall discolouration consistent with its age, slightly yellow and darker around the edges. The red of the thread is good, albeit not quite as vibrant as when this piece was originally made. The last photo is of the reverse of the sampler and indicates how the colour would have looked when Ann Eliza first stitched it.  Measures 11" x 9"
