This very old, truly vintage Saltillo serape blanket measures 58" by 26 1/2" across without the fringes. The fringes are 6" long on the top and bottom sides. It weighs less than 1 lb un-boxed: it is a light weight blanket that can be worn as a shawl or to carry things around, including babies, when used in the style of the original Saltillo weavers.
The white fabric in the center motif, or eyedazzler, is silk, check close-up # 4. That, plus the long, sophisticated macramed fri...nges, tells this serape is an authentic vintage piece, found in very good condition for its age.
The bed in the pics is a queen, 80" by 60".
