WWI GERMAN GEW 98 Prussian and R.F.V. marked Mauser Rifle Stock set Complete. Used but in very good overall condition, especially considering it's 100+ years of age, and is still very solid and very serviceable condition. The Prussian "FW" for Wilheim II of Prussia is still plainly visible on the right side of the buttstock. The "1920" Weimar government property stamp signifying compliance with the Treaty of Versailles is on the left side of the butt stock (Please S...ee Photos). A Weimar-era eagle and unknow Sra. K stamp are on the bottom of the pistol grip. A large R.F.V. (Reich Finance Ministry) stamp is in the butt plate. The Reich Finance Ministry troops guarded banks, pay stations, and Post Offices. The butt plate number, as with the rest of the numbers on this stock, do not match. This stock set is complete with the front and rear bands, band springs, flat butt plate and handguard. This is the final version of the WWI German GEW 98 rifle stock with the grasping grove and the takedown /disassembly device in the buttstock. The numbers on all the parts are different and mixed but all the parts are correct for a WWI German GEW 98 rifle. This stock has the usual dings, dents and scratches expected with a 100+ year old military stock but it is still very sound and very serviceable. The model 98 long rifle was the standard shoulder weapon used by German infantry in WWI.
