Original Description:
This silver plate plaque is a companion piece to one recently sold on ebay.  It measures 8 1/2 in. by 8 1/2 in.  The 4th photo shows where the mark AK et CIE is located. The metal ware company AK et CIE was founded around 1880 in Vienna by Albert Kohler.  In 1900 the company was purchased by the German metal ware company WMF who continued to produce and distribute in Austria metal ware under the AK et CIE mark until c. 1914. The companion piece sold had the number 279 on... the reverse where this one has the number 279A as seen in photo 3. I purchased this piece in Zagreb, Croatia in 2002 and it has been hanging on a bedroom wall until a recent move.
