For sale is what appears to be a WW1 era hair sporran was would have been worn by a soldier from the Seaforth Highlanders Regiments of the either British or Canadian Army. The sporran is in overall good condition for its age. The horse hair front remains thick and full bodied and is not shedding. The leather inset cantle shows its age but is in decent shape. The cantle is fitted with what appears to be the original stag horn crest but the separate lower banner portion has been rem...oved and lost over time. The horse hair tassels are also full bodied and well preserved. The leather tassel bells, like the cantle are showing their age but in good order. The back of the sporran shows that the pocket flap has been lost along with most of the edge trim. The original tab-style screw-down nuts are missing. The images should say it all. The sporran measures about 41 cm or 16" in overall length. Weighs 550 grams before packaging.
