Original Description:
Offered here is a very pleasing antique Scottish embroidery sampler by Alice Douglas, aged 13, which features bands of alphabets and numerals above a charming depiction of a pair of parrots in a garden of exotic flowers and shrubs, all surrounded by a border of strawberry plants. The sampler measures 12 1/2" x 12" and is card mounted in a vintage ebonised wood frame (glass removed for safe shipping). It is in nice condition as per my photos showing no moth or fading of the original col...ours and is offered here with a low price start and no reserve.This is one of a 'pair' of sister's samplers (see last photo).
