This clock is an extremely rare high quality antique black forest natural wood monk automation 8 day 2 train angelus bell strike clock of superb proportions and of the highest quality imaginable in great condition for age and a stunning colour and patina to the natural wood which comprises of twigs, roots, bark etc so every single one made were unique and never the same
The case is probably one of the very finest natural wood themes i have ever seen in a early black forest clock. The theme and carvings are truly superb with superb attention to detail as i am sure you can see from the pictures and video. The top of the case features a turret cathedral tower which encloses the automation tower bell which moves when the monk pulls the bell rope as he pops out of the door There is a lever to the left hand side which when pushed in sets off the 2 bell strike and the full monk automation so you have the automation and strike on demand The case has mirrored windows to both sides and also one to the front to the right hand side of the monk automation door
The case is in great condition with superb attention to detail all over. The clock really has to be seen in the flesh to fully appreciate it
The case has a stunning colour and patina to it which can only be acquired through age. This is exactly how i have received it and it looks 1000% more impressive in the flesh The cuckoo clock is not signed although it is almost definitely by Anton Hackler, Johan Baptiste Beha or Gordian Hettich Sohn absolutely screams quality all over. I dont think you will find another one like it and is unique being made from all natural wood with extremely rare features to case and movement. I certainly have never seen another one quite like it. The clock is all totally original with case, dial, movement all belonging to each other and all started life together exactly how you see it
The clock features a 6.5 inch diam original dial with hand carved roman numerals to the chapter ring and finely hand carved hands. The dial is in excellent clean mint condition
The clock has an extremely rare monk automation clock movement. First of all it has 2 spring trains which run for 8 days which powers the timekeeping and the very rare monk automation angelus striking mechanism The movement has a 8 day duration with the automation monk popping out of the large hinged door to the centre, the original carved automation monk figure is fully automated with moving arms and pops out at 12am, 6am, 12pm, 6pm to ring the angelus strike on 2 bells to the back of the movement, as the bells strike every 6 hours the monk pulls on the rope which moves the automation bell in the top tower the same time making it a full automated monk and bell. As well as the monk popping out at these times you also have a lever to the left hand side which when pushed in sets off the monk automation and the 2 bell angelus strike on demand so you can choose to have this feature whenever you wanted I believe the times above were the times the monks called for the angelus at prayer times The movement is in perfect working order with it keeping good time and the 2 bell angelus strike and monk automation all working exactly how it should and also the automation and strike working with the on demand lever when pushed in The movement ticks away beautifully with its original brass pendulum and a new brass winding key and the automation monk and 2 bell strike are like music to the ears as you can ear in the video above with all the automations working exactly how they should The movement comes with a 6 months return to base warranty for extra piece of mind, please the terms and conditions below The clock has superb proportions measuring 26 inches high x 15 inches wide x 10 inches deep and looks absolutely stunning wherever it is displayed Maker: Certainly Anton Hackler, Johan baptist Beha or Gordian Hettich Sohn Circa: 1850 This is a perfect investment clock and a beautiful display piece. If on the rare occasion you receive a clock that has a problem or does not work after initial set up and adjusting by a professional person then we reserve the right for you to return the mechanism for repair by myself
There will be no refunds if the mechanism needs repair. I reserve the right for the mechanism to be returned to me for repair
I offer a 6 months return to base warranty on all my mechanisms (unless stated not working in description)
In case of a problem after a professional has attempted to set the clock up you can return the mechanism back to me for repair
Please do not take the mechanism to a local clock maker/repairer as this will render the warranty void. All repairs needed to the mechanism will be carried out by myself and not by a 3rd party clock maker/repairer unless agreed by myself beforehand. please contact me in the first instance to arrange return of the mechanism for repair by myself
