Up for sale is a nice original US Civil War belt buckle belonging to Jacob Solomon from Ohio. This is the first of many items I will be listing from this estate. The buckle has a rare W. H. Smith Brooklyn, NY stamp on the lead backing. It has a very pleasing aged tarnish and patina to the brass front. Corner and edge dings as seen in the images. I have shown an image of Jacob Solomon of the 9th Ohio Cavalry which is not included, but you are welcome to print. As you can see by the phot...o, Solomon must have had a rough time of it, as his coat sleeve has been cut away and his hand looks disfigured. He also is wearing his service medals.
