For sale is an Antique Salt Glaze Moonshine Jug. It is a One Gallon size made in Vale, North Carolina circa 1870. The jug is 10" tall and 7" in dia. The jug is in good condition with no cracks, has one chip in the bottom rim. See Photos. It does have an interesting salt drip from the kiln that gives it a little character. It was found under the floor when a 100-year-old barn was dismantled recently. The dark stain was caused by the location of the jug near the wall in a groundhog kiln....Reference: Turners and Burners by Charles G.
