I would frame them if I were keeping them any longer; I have had them for 30 plus years and took them out of a Denver Square home that was slated to be demolished. It was built in 1890. I will soon have others for sale from the same house if you care to check out my other listings. Though I can't find the Trent Co. mark, I am relatively sure that they were made by Trent; there is still a light and thin residue of old mortar adhering to the backs obscuring any marks.
Each tile is 6 inches square and they all have very light crazing, lighter than I would expect of majolica, expected of lead-based high glazed majolica pottery. The middle tile has a corner that was broken at one time and glued back together, not an uncommon thing with majolica tiles. Since there are 5 in the set, that would make them 30 inches tall as a completed portrait. And the colors are consistent and lovely to be sure, comprising shades of brown, green, cream, and a pinkish undertone. The overall effect is amazing and the condition is too. There is very little glaze loss and little to no damage that I can see. Please examine photos carefully. Wonderful pieces! Wonderful pieces!International Buyers: please email for shipping costs .
