I would really like to sell this piece to a good home. I inherited this tray from my father. I do not have the room for this piece on my floor or walls. I have lowered the price to entice a bidder to step up to the plate.
Description of the item: A finely engraved copper alloy Persian Qajar oval tray with a pie-crust rim, 35 1/2" x 24", having a round central panel depicting seven people in a garden, surrounded by additional panels of foliate, calligraphic, and auspicious symb...ols decoration, made during the 19th century. The panels may contain poetry. The central panel may be depicting a party or a wedding scene. The Persian solar number 1212 appears - the piece is approximately dated from 1833-34. The piece was appraised at $1400 at one time, there is a receipt from Beirut from 1974 when it was purchased. I am shipping free to USA bidders.
