Original Description:
Small late 19th century sampler by Harriet Jones aged 14 - December 1880. Worked in wool on gauze, this little sampler is completely charming with neat stitch work throughout. The gauze is stitched with rows of alphabet letters, numbers and border patterns finishing with Harriet's details and the date of Dec'r 1880.The gauze has overall discolouration consistent with its age and the colours of the wool are good with several areas of stitch loss. The last photo is of the reverse of the ...sampler and indicates how the colours would have looked when Harriet first stitched it. Measures 7 3/4" x 10 3/4"
