A REPORTOF THE 412th FIGHTER SQUADRON OPERATIONS DURING WORLD WAR II 15 AUGUST 1943-31 MAY 1945 By Col. Frederick C. Bealke, Jr., AUS (Ret.) 12 July 1988This is an album of approximately 100 pages of material gathered from official reports, even many of the pages are marked "SECRET" some with "SECRET" marked out--I imagine 74 years later it is safe to say that these reports are no longer secret! It concerns the actions of the 412th Fighter Squadron and the 373D Fighter Group in t...he European Theater of Operations--Many of the pages are stories and other research material of the writer to record his actions and those of the organized unit--there are ten pages of original black and white snapshots showing the author and friends, planes--some with nose art--men with weapons--many of the photos have names and dates written on the back (there are a total of 26 photos!) The author gives unit histories, operations month to month, maps, operational histories, medals awarded to the men, lists of wounded, MIA, Killed--Operation Boden Platte-All of this material is housed in a Holson Co. binder measuring 11 1/2" x 12" x 2 1/2" --this should prove of great value to someone who is interested in studying this part of WWII history--just the photographs alone are worth much more than the whole album!!
