The Works of Benjamin Franklin in 10 Volumes edited and arranged by Jared Sparks Complete 1840s/1850s. Published by Tappan, Whittemore, and Mason in Boston. Also Alston Mygatt in New Orleans.  This is a very early collected edition of Franklin's writings circa 1850.  One of the volumes is dated 1847 and the others are undated. As best I can tell the set was probably issued around 1850. The bindings of black publisher's cloth are holding steady.  There is some wear and lo...ss to the spine ends and some of the joints of the first few volumes have some cosmetic splitting to the cloth (please see photos). The pages are very clean and there are several engraved plates showing Franklin's inventions, etc. Please let me know if you have any questions.
