The illustrations in full color were hand drawn and hand painted by Syd Mead long before there was ever computer digital art. The colors are as chromatic and brilliant as the day they were printed.
These prints were part of Mead’s US Steel futurist design and conceptual images created after leaving the Ford Motor Car Design studios. It is the beginning work that led to a famous career as a visual futurist, architectural designer, motion picture visual concept artist and video game artist. Mead says his work is to render “reality ahead of schedule”.
These prints show the exceptional creativity and artistic skill that led to his work as a visual futurist for movies such as Tron, Blade Runner, Star Trek, Aliens and others.
These prints were owned by a GM Corvette designer for over 50 years as a treasured part of his collection and now they could be yours.
