The abstracted edition which only cites the authors used by Johnson, rather than the complete excerpts.
Text block tight.
Brand new endpapers being of a cream paper with laid lines
With some scattered spotting & discolouration throughout, I've shown the worst internal pages for total honesty, other pages are brighter and less foxed. Like I say this is over 200 years old and an early, what appears to be hand-made paper, long before the days of Quality Control.
Apparently this Edition is not a common edition to encounter either, I have done as much research as possible.
Please Note: the photographs make up the best part of the description condition-wise. It's not easy to describe this kind of rare book...
Thanks for looking
Oh and in case you're wondering, contrary to what Edmund Blackadder says in Blackadder III, the first word in this dictionary is most certainly not Aardvark, in fact sadly Aardvark does not appear in this volume at all!
