This is a Japanese WWll Army officer`s sword in combat mountings. The blade is unsigned, shinogi-zukuri shape, WWll time period ca. 1940 era made blade. The blade is hand forged, in old polish, shows fine scratches, light stains but no rust and in good condition. The temper line is wavy gunome-choji temper pattern throughout the blade and has deep temper at the point. Forging grain is tight k...o-itame hada, no openings, no blister and no forging flaws at all. There is no bend, no nick, no crack and cutting edge is sharp. The scabbard is leather covered wood scabbard, no tear, no crack, no bend and in good condition. The handle is tight fit, tsuka-ito wrapping is no cut, no loose and in good condition. It measures 27+1/8" tip to the guard, 26+1/4" cutting edge, 1+3/16" width, 6.5 mm thickness at the notch and 37+1/4" in mountings.
