Up for auction is really good and early Standard Grade Tackeye Hen Mallard made by the Mason factory, Detroit, ca. 1905. This old relic is in good original paint and still shows strong feather loops on the back as well as those paint brush swirls that collectors regard so highly. The speculums remain very strong. The neck filler has been replaced with some touch-up to that area. It does show some minor wear from use including rubs to the end of the bill, and... end of the tail. There is some minor touch-up along the mid-line on both sides and on the top of the head, no doubt to cover what were rubs from use. It has an age check on the left side of the back and a couple of small scars to the body. It has a lead strip weight on the bottom. Overall, this is a really good example of the Mason factory’s early standard grade production. Measures 16” long; 5-1/2” wide; and 6-1/2” tall. Please ask questions or for more pictures.
