I am offering on Buy It Now a rare antique tobacco jar from Warwick China of Wheeling, West Virginia. This early 1900's vitreous clay jar with lid has a glossy brown glaze. It features a transfer pattern of a monk clad in a brown cloak. He is pointing to a tiny glass of sherry wine that he is holding in his left hand. He has a pleasant look on his face. The jar with lid is 5 1/2" high and about the same width. The 3 1/2" lid is dark brown with a white underside like the interior of the... jar. The back of the jar is labelled Tobacco. There is a small spot of white showing through the glaze on the front of the jar. The bottom shows crazing. It is double stamped and red numbered A.31.
