Early 19th c medium 11” height x 11.5” x 4” (28.5cm Height x 29cm x 10cm) Dallah coffee pot from Nizwa or Muscat town, Oman. Weighted lid has original rattling materials in it, and this one has a lot of them! More than the others I have sold so far. Makes a nice noise. Gorgeous stipple etched details and balanced, attractive shape! This coffee pot comes from a special private collection of interesting Middle Eastern antiques procured in the 50’s, including some great antique dal...lah coffee pots. I will list a few more examples from the collection today as well. This one features a tinned copperware body combined with brass finials and some damascene lettering or design around base of pot. Condition: Missing end piece of the spout lip cover. The Lid is nice and solid, heavy, and works great, but there is some verdigris on the decorative copper edging, see photos. There are significant dents on one side of the base, including a somewhat small but very repair-worthy one, see several photos for details of the dents, which are really all just on that one side. No holes or damage to the copper body. I have not attempted to clean the dallah, and leave that process to your discretion. The copper and brass elements will truly shine if you wish to clean the patina off. I am happy to answer any questions you might have about the materials and detailed condition reporting on the item prior to your purchase.Measures 11” x 11.5” x 4”.
