This little old quilt seems to have been made in a farm using scraps, and it is a bit rustic, made probably for utilitarian purposes rather than high class decor. It was, it seems, intended for a small bed, maybe a crib, or to cover a piece of furniture.
It has a very thin layer of batting inside.
The appliques were sewn by hand to the off-white fabric and then it was quilted by hand as well.
There is a total of 25 Sue appliques, all of them feed sack, althou...gh one, visible on the upper right corner of pic # 2, has a dress that is off-white and almost of the same tone than the base fabric, so from that distance you can see only the hat, the sleeve and the shoe.
It measures 52" by 42" across; the bed is a queen, 80" by 60".
