Together, these made up the Marine field transport pack but could also be worn individually. This set is named/marked and belonged to Sgt. Charles M. Scott. Sgt. Scott served with Co A Third Tank Battalion from 1942-43; Tank Co. 4th Marine Reinforced First Marine Brigade, 5th Amphibious Corps in 1944 and with Co. A, 6th Tank Battalion, 6th Marine Division in 1945 on Okinawa. He saw a lot of action. Both the field pack and the haversack had been field camouflaged with dark green paint splotches over the back and front of each. Both the pack and the haversack have been combat worn and are faded and soiled. The paint splotches are as faded and worn as the pack. The field pack is quite faded and soiled from combat use but the stitching is sound. One metal end cap to one of the closing straps (right) is missing. The name "CM Scott" is stenciled in red on the back of the pack. The front is unit marked in red stencil "632." The haversack is matching and while there is some slight paint loss and corrosion to some of the metal, is in good shape. "CM Scott is stenciled and printed on the back of the haversack and unit marking "632" is on the front. Sgt. Scott's membership card in the Marine Tanker's Association is included with the listing. The I'm not sure what more I can add beyond what the photos show.I am also listing several other USMC items in the next few days. I also will be listing several WW2 Japanese items. These are mostly all vet bring back items that I acquired over the past 50 years.I only accept payment through PayPal unless other arrangements are agreed to before you bid. The shipping costs are for U.S. priority mail domestic delivery. International shipping will be more. I use eBay's Global Shipping Program for overseas shipping. It is fast, efficient and reliable.
