For sale an Antique Vintage late 18th or Early 19th C American Wrought Iron Handle Brass Strainer Ladle. In excellent pre-owned condition. There is some pitting andoxidation to the piece from age and time. Measures 12-1/2” in length with thebowl being 4-1/2" in diameter. No makers mark or owners name engraved on the back of the handle. Great example of a late 18th or early 19th century blacksmith madeladle. Ladles such as this wereused during the cooking process to lift v...arious items out of a kettle, such asboiled vegetables, meats, etc. As well as assisting with the servings ofsuch. The small pierces in the deeper ladle bowl allowing for water orbroths to pass through while retaining the food served. As you can see the metal smith who created this piece worked in afine overall form with some nice simple designs to the brass bowl. Complete with a hole in the hangingtab.
