Made from mother of pearl excellent condition with no damage or chips anywhere.
The shaft or nib holder is made from solid gold that is 9ct or better but not marked. (it has been tested) It is marked S MORDAN & Co
It has an interesting locking style clip mechanism that is in perfect condition overall.
Considering the age of this pen, I would be tempted to say it is just about mint!
It is rather heavy and well weighted. This is a rather high quality pen so I think there is quite a lot of gold content in the nib holder
