Small early 19th century linen and wool work sampler by Ann Graham aged 14 - 1815. This little sampler is completely charming with neat stitch work throughout. The upper and middle sections of the linen are stitched with rows of alphabet letters, numbers and border patterns with a row of sets of family initials in and amongst. The bottom edge of the linen is stitched with a row of four crowns with two birds perched on top of the outermost left side one and a bird near the one on the fa...r right. There is a carnation and diamond by the side of the outer left crown whilst Ann's details and the date of 1815 run across the bottom edge. The linen has overall discolouration consistent with its age with a small stain by the C in the row of large letters, and the colours of the wool are good with some areas of stitch loss. The last photo is of the reverse of the sampler and indicates how the colours would have looked when Ann first stitched. Measures 10" x 11 1/2" ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE ASK.
