Featured in this auction is a miniature, vintage Rookwood Pottery cabinet bowl from the Mission era. This piece has an arts-and-crafts design with geometric and floral motifs encircling the shoulder. The bowl is in excellent condition with small glaze pinholes outside with tiny, glazed-over clay tags inside. There are no chips, no cracks, light overall crazing and no repairs; however, one of the craze lines appears to have become a very-tight hairline just inside... the top rim edge. The piece is 2-1/2" tall, almost 4-3/4" wide at the shoulder, and 3-1/4" wide at the top rim opening. The base of the pottery is stamped with the Rookwood Pottery flame mark, the shape number 2127 and the production year XXII (1922). This gorgeous glaze is a matte butterscotch-yellow color with some darker shades of yellow. The bowl has some evidence of light scuffing and faint mineral staining from gentle use but is very clean both inside and out. Check out all 8 photos! This special little cabinet piece would be perfect for any Rookwood or American art pottery collector. Check out my other pottery listings!
