Up for auction is an Indian War Era US Army Cavalry Horse Hobble Set. This is an Original Butler Varney Version with the Rock Island Arsenal markings on the leather. There are also unit markings stamped into the leather. The hobble set is used, see Photo's for Condition. Some minor rusting of the... metal portions. The leather is flexible and supple. Hobbles were use to limit the horse's range of motion. They would be attached to the front or rear legs. This is a most for collectors of this time period. These are seldom seen in this condition.
