Vintage C1940 " Olivetti " Ico MP1 " Portable Typewriter In Royal Blue With Case

This wonderful, stylish "Olivetti" " Ico MP1" portable typewriter with its' case is in a striking royal or dark blue colour.This colour would have been specifically requested by its' original owner and I have not seen a machine in this colour before.The "Ico MP1" was named after the companies founder, Ingegnere Camillo Olivetti and Modello Portatile 1(portable model) and was Olivetti's first portable typewriter. It was designed by Aldo Magnelli and Riccardo Levi. The typewriter has re...tained much of its' original paintwork, this has a good depth, however, there is a little missing paint to the edges of the ribbon holders, paper table and carriage return arm, as well as, the usual light wear and use marks that you would associate with a machine of this age.The chrome plated metal work has retained virtually all of its' finish and has retained a good shine.The makers plaque and name to the paper table have a good depth of colour too.All of the keys are present, the letters, numbers and symbols are still clear and legible, there are no cracks or fading to the celluloid covers and the plated rings have all of their finish.The type-heads hit the platen when the keys are depressed and the "Caps" and Fig" keys lift the carriage as they should.The carriage moves smoothly along when typing or using the space bar.The typewriter has its' original base and case, this is in good order with the catch working and the handle is well attached.
