This typewriter was Engineered in Switzerland and built in France. It has an all aluminum body with a matching case. Case has some dusty spots and some blemishes from being used. This typewriter has a Hermes green body and case with piano white keys and knobs.The back of the typewriter reads, HERMES, Made In France For Paillard s.a. Yverdon Switzerland.This typewriter comes with a matching aluminum Green Hermes labelled hard-case. It’s a heavy suit case like protection with locks (ke...y is not included) Cleaning brush and dust jacket also included as well as an original pamphlet that came with the unit and some ribbon from 1983! (I don’t think it will work very well anymore but I have not tested it out as I do not want to mess with ribbon replacing) the original owner (he was the only one!) kept this unit in such pristine condition! It does have a few little dirt spots on the outer parts of the type writer but the keys are very very smooth and clean. Comes from no smoking & pet free home.
!!!!! Every key types as it should apart from the number one. I showed a picture of it typing the [ ] upon looking inside the type writer I noticed that this is actually how the key number one looks! I am not sure whether this is a rare manufacturer error. Seems like it to me as the rest of the numbers are fine and out of all the keys there’s no normal number one looking knob. Makes it very special!the ribbon is still typing but as you can see it’s very faint and so therefore will need a replacement. But at least you can see the typewriter works!
This typewriter has both of it's original platen knobs in excellent condition. The typewriter has been placed on a foam padding which it has been sitting on for years inside the case so overall the bottom has been well protected as well.This vintage 1970 Hermes 3000 Swiss made typewriter is a rare survivor and considered by many in the typewriter world to be the best built typewriter of all time!
